Review Cheap Compact Aluminum Flashlight

These Compact Aluminum Flashlight ended up being great. They are both Bright and light-weight, and extremely portable. The Aluminum frame means they aren't gonna crack like those cheap plastic ones. And in terms of price, they simple cannot be beat. You could purchase a half dozen of these for the price of one name brand flash light.

However, as many on here have stated, they don't have a great track record of working out of the box. Of the 6 I ordered, 4 worked perfectly out of the box, The other two were a little off. They would blink on and off as you tightened the battery caps on, but remained off once the cap was securely on. It occurred to me that there was a problem with the contacts. Since the Compact Aluminum Flashlight use the metal tube as one of the contact points, I went at the threads of the cap and the body in hopes that I could clean up the connection. Turns out it worked! Once I cleaned of some of the manufactures protective coating, I found the broken flashlights worked perfectly. I now have 6 fully functioning flashlights. I'd complain about that little inconvenience, but these are so cheap, even if you can only get 2 working, you'll have saved money off of the name brands.

Other then the complaint about the quality, it does have a few other minor flaws. I notice that these run relatively hot compared to some of the other Compact Aluminum Flashlight I own. Also the strap that comes with these is barely big enough to fit three of my fingers through, really much less useful then a full wrist strap. I Can't testify to the longevity of these though, I've owned them for about 3 months and they all still work. We'll see how they hold up in the years to come.

Pros:
+Very Cheap
+Extremely Bright Light
+Light Weight
+Aluminium Frame

Cons:
-Some didn't work out of the box
-Tends to run a little hot
-Strap is mostly pointless

Smith and Wesson Galaxy Elite 2 AA CREE Tactical Flashlight Overview

This small 2 AA flashlight was designed for consumers and police departments, who want the extreme brightness and distance of the latest LED technology, yet aren’t comfortable with the cost of CR123 batteries. This new CREE LED Flashlight is fully regulated which means the brightness you see with fresh batteries is the brightness you’ll see just before batteries are depleted. Special circuitry stores power from the batteries and then delivers just the right amount to the bulb to maintain maximum brightness. At 100 lumens, the CREE LED flashlight is brighter than most 5 D battery flashlights, yet runs on the included 2 AA batteries for up to 2 hours. Consumers using 2 AA Lithium batteries can expect up to 10 hours of run time. The light also includes a removable pocket clip, wrist lanyard and a holster in addition to the 2 AA batteries. A true tactical tail cap switch allows users to twist all the way for constant on, or simply back off a half twist for momentary mode. Then, when you’re ready to put the light away, another half twist allows the light to safely be stored without worries of accidental illumination. This light is sure to be at the top of many wish lists this year.[endif][if ]
